Barney’s New York has recently paired up with Disney for their holiday marketing campaign, titled “Electric Holiday”. In this campaign, the Disney characters have undergone a drastic makeover. Not only are they stylish, but they’re dramatically thinner as well.
Considering that Barney’s targets more towards adults than kids, is it okay to use these childhood icons for high fashion in the way they’ve been used? Will adults recognize the ridiculousness of the new cartoon, or are Minnie Mouse and Daisy Duck new contributors to negative body image?
